English shampoos

I have recently started to get some major frizz, and my hair is feeling very dry. My hairs not that long yet (about 5 inches) and I don't have any real "regime", I just tend to use whatever shampoo is in the house. Since I live with no other long hairs these tend to be first one on the shelf type shampoo (i.e grab them and get out of the shop). Could any longhairs on this site who are in ENGLAND suggest some decent shampoos and conditioners. I know this is a personal choice type issue but shampoos and conditioners isn't really an area I know much about. Some suggestions would be a good place to start... Thanks.

Hi
I'm British, but I dont live in the UK, that said I'm there periodically and I've never had any problem buying the shampoos I use in Britian
I use Clarol Herbal Essences and the sister range of Fruit Fussions Conditioners, they are the best "Off the Shelf" Shampoos & Conditioners I have found.
I'm told Timotee is supposed to be pretty kind to long hair too, though I haven't tried it.
The Only drawback is these are pretty "girly" brands, atleast thats who they are marketed too. Swallow your pride and ignore the pink bottles.
Better still you can buy a Top end salon brand from your local Hair Salon.

you can get all the top shampoo's and conditioners in england that all the americans rave about at www.lookfantastic.com its like the best website ever! as for brands I like nioxin cause its good for your hair and scalp but for friz something from the kerastase line may be better (oleo relax shampoo or bain satin 2 or 3 ). You'll find its a hell of a lot more expensive than your fructis of timotae(?) but you get what you pay for and anonymity online so go for it!

I'm in London and you'll have no trouble finding the Aussie brand of shampoo and conditioner, which is a popular choice amongst the board regulars. The Citre Shine products are also pretty good. I'm just using baby shampoo nowadays though.

I've been batting on for ages about the cheapest, crappiest sounding conditioner on the market - 'Asda Smartprice Family Conditioner'. I don't buy it because it's dirt cheap (which it is at about 30p for 500ml) but because it works (for me anyway) ! I try other expensive stuff and always come back to this one. It can be difficult to notice in the shop as it's nearly always on the bottom shelf where they put the other stuff they don't make much profit on. Try it !
Try ordering via the internet
