Hi, i'd just like to introduce myself,
My names Chris im so glad i've found this message board, i've been looking for months for websites about men growing their hair and any tips, but until recently, I havent found a thing, only womens hair sites. This is what i've been hunting for, and better, where you can type in your messages and talk with like minded people. This is absolutely great!:d
My name is Chris and I am 17, 18 this year, I live in the UK (not england!) I am white, and have decided to grow my hair since 26th, November 2003. It is now 2 1/2 months since I started. I perceive myself on looking much younger with short hair, and my aim is to grow my hair to about shoulder length in time for when I move from 6form to college in september. I have missed out on so much tips, can you guys plz fill me in on some Do's and Dont's when caring for your hair, trying new hairstyles while its growing, etc...
I am considering posting pics of myself showing progress, but im not sure yet!
I really hope long hair will suit me, I feel right now I look ugly with short hair and since I have been caring for my hair and looking in front of the mirror, I have really noticed that there are many things I need to change in order to look more attractive. I really want to do this, not just my g/f, this is my decision and so far I've had very little critisism off anyone. I've spoken to my g/f about myself growing my hair and she thinks it will be really cool.
I hope for it to grow long enough to be about the 10 month length in Aarons post or more.
Thats all I can think of right now!
Toodles

Hey Chris, welcome. I highly reccommend that you read the article linked below. It was written by Bill, who frequents this board and it is excellent!

Amusingly, my name is also Chris. I've also recently come to the realization that my short hair is simply pathetic. I look as though I'm 12-14 though that isn't so bad in the long run.
I just turned 18 and I'm about to go to college for my EMT degree so that I may become a firefighter.
I'm aiming for chin or shoulder length hair with a few braids here and there.
Where's RAQ When you need it?

Hi Chris... Welcome to the board.
Another good place to the start is an article written by one of our members HairReligion. He dubbed it the "RAQ" (Repeatedly Asked Questions) (Which I can't find listed on his Site... Where are they when you need them??)
Unless you have a specific question then his site is a good place to start for general info. www.hairreligion.com
You just have to bear in mind that HairReligion is a "Terminal Length" kinda guy so he does encourage you to grow all the way to your butt and beyond... Don't feel excluded by that, his tips work just as well for those growing out to shoulder length.
If you have a specific Question ask away...
