About Haircare

I have read your posts often about haircare and what could help to make it look healthier or whatever and I don't think it really makes a difference that I am an woman and I swear I do really NOTHING to my hair (about waist long, it was never short in my life) exept washing every 3-6 days. My hairdresser is astonished when I say I do nothing to my hair and she is can't belive it either that it looks so healthy. I did try different products in the past but I did not see any noticeable effect, maybe afterall its waste of money and the companys only want to make money and it helps nothing actually so since a long time I don't spend money on this anymore exept a simple normal cheap schampoo. Maybe its just a phychological effect when you use this stuff, and think your hair looks better after using it, only my opinion....any experiences wich prove I am wrong?
I wish I could post my pic but I don't know how and I do not have webspace :-(

I have a friend just like you. He has really straight hair and uses nothing but regular shampoo on it every day. He has really great looking hair down to mid back. I on the other hand, I have a huge tangled mess if I dare not to use conditioner. I guess it just depends on your type of hair.

Hi Angela
If you want you can send me your pic and I'll put it up on my web space for you. Treyn normally offers to do the same, I'm just beating him to it today.

I do a minimal amount with my hair as well. There isn't a lot that one needs to do.
What happens here is that a lot of guys just starting out with very difficult hair types find this board and hope that we might have some easy answers for them (we do have some good tips). They often think that they may be doing something wrong or maybe that they can have hair just like an actor with straight hair extentions but they just don't know the secret how.
In the early stages they turn to products in an attempt to control their growing hair. It's all a learning process through which they will get familiar with their hair, sometimes for the first time in their lives.
Hopefully one day they will be able to look back with experience but it certainly appears to be traumatic from reading the board, eh?

I don't do anything to my hair either, except wash it once or twice a week. I don't think that for most people any of these other products are really necessary, but a huge industry is making a lot of money by making many of us feel inadequate in one way or another.
