It's IN for me.
But you are correct: many cowboys had longer hair.
Pirates, too, come to think of it.

Yes, I've heard the 'stories.' There is definitely a culture difference in
certain parts of the world.
Will things change over time? Who knows. Maybe
it even depends on which city or town you happen to live in.
Long hair represents certain things to different people.
Nobody seems to think alike. O, well.
Good luck, anyay!

I'm very suprised. I always thought the English were notorious for having long hair throughout the years..i thought it's always been part of British culture. I know they still wear long wigs in Parliament.

It was part of Celtic culture to have long hair - not English culture. Two very seperate parts of Britain. Various parts of Britain have always taken a lot of stick for having long hair. Through Romans and Christianity it's got less and less normal for a man to have long hair. Wolf has been attacked in the streets here simply because he has long hair - so have other friends of mine. The English were never really 'for' long hair. Sad.

It probably depends on where you are. I've not had any real problems (live in Bristol). One minor run-in at work a few years back, but otherwise, people just leave me alone.
I recall somewhere seeing something related to muggings that said something like; if you don't want to be a victim, don't behave like one. Behaviour breeds behaviour. If your general attitude is one of not taking any nonsense, then, generally, you will be given less. My experience, anyway. I was once accused by a colleague of not suffering fools glady. I asked her what she meant by "gladly".
Pure celt and proud of it ;-)
BTW - it is the speaker who wears a wig in the commons. They are still used in the courtroom, though.

Yes it definetely seems to make a difference where you are. I have a few friends in Bristol and they have no problem with their long hair. On the other hand most other English places I see problems. Bristol sure does stick out as being different in that respect. What type of Celt are you by the way? lol

Quite personally (I'm a woman, mind) I really dig guys with chin or barely shoulder length hair...(Though longer can be quite nice too ;) ) I love long hair on guys, but it has to be well cared for or it looks really unclean.

Long hair will never be properly "in" like it was in the late 60s, 70s and 80s, and even then not a lot of people had long hair, compared to the amount of people who didn't. It's all because most people 1: don't have the patience, and 2: there are so many social scenes that don't "promote" long hair these days.
