hair and hat use question

i typically wear a hat to work every day since most of the mornings i don't feel like having to fool with it... i'm still in the awkward stage apparently, and the back of my hair that is not covered by the hat sort of flips and poofs out. i've noticed now even when i'm not wearing a hat it does this...so, did my hair get used to this with the hat, and just does it all the time? if i stop wearing a hat will this go away after some time? and any tips you guys can offer for fixing for work would be helpful...thanks!

I can't see how not using a hat will help it flatten out. It's just how hair is in the awkward stage. Ask anyone.

Yeah a hat does that. The hair under the hat stays flat, and the hair near the edge of the hat, flips out more than it would without a hat. And if you wear a hat regularly, your hair gets used to that shape. Just wash your hair well, comb it with a wide-tooth comb when its wet, and not wear a hat for a while and it'll stop acting like that.
