Has anyone here ever heard of putting certain types of oil in thier hair.
See my parents are from pakistan and there it is normal to massage oil's into your hair. Pretty much any kind of oil will do, coconut, almond etc, even cooking oils!
It sounded wierd to me too but it is supposed to help the scalp and is good for the hair.
I tried it the other day with coconut oil and it actually feels good. It gives my hair a slick look and as im in the awkward stage (about 3-4 inches) it keeps it looking quite tidy rather than using hair gels.
Even better results was I first used straightners and got my hair very straight and then applied the oil, it looks much better and more manageble.

Sure, people put all sorts of things in their hair. Some have good results, some don't do anything.
It's basically the same thing that shampoos and conditioners, etc. are trying to do and you'll probably find that using a good conditioner is much less messy than putting olive oil in your hair. But if you don't mind the mess then give it a whirl so you can see for yourself.
