Hello and Thank You

Hello everybody, I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful and informative discussion board. My wife laughs at me because I care so much about my hair. She is a wonderful school teacher who prefers to keep her hair at about shoulder length. However, when she was younger she had long beautiful blonde hair. So it is good to see so many men out there like me.
A little about me: 42 years old, retired military, currently unemployed. I retired in Oct 2000, the last time shears got close to my head was Dec 2000. My hair is wavy and full of body, so apparent growth appears to be slow. It is in the middle of back right now. Keep in mind that I had "high and tights" for 20 years. I work out several days a week and constantly deal with sweaty hair because I live in Houston. I shampoo once, maybe twice a week, only when my wife starts complaining about my hair stinking. It seems that my hair becomes much more manageble and straighter the further it gets from shampooing. I blowdry every day, or my hair would take all day to dry. I'll begin to think of cutting it when it gets to about my butt. When I ride the scoot I put multiple bands on. I thought I would give those bunjiis' a try, so I bought a couple of them.
