Pictures and a question

I've been growing my hair for three years and it's now halfway down my back. 27".
Here are some horrible pictures. ;D
I have a little bit of a dilemma. I just can't pull off a ponytail! When I pull my hair back into one, the shorter curly hairs at my temple frizz up like mad. Think Bozo The Clown. That big. Making a center part cuts down on this a little bit, but a center part looks goofy on me.
Any product recommendations to cut down on the frizz? I need something gentle, of course, and maybe moisturizing since those hairs seem to be drier. I've tried oil before, but it doesn't seem to do much for the frizz and I end up looking greasy.

I think it looks great! Very shiny.
For the frizz you may want to try something like this:

Which you can probably find at a salon.

Gel solves this problem for me. Just make sure that you get some that contains no alcohol, as that will dry your hair out. Work it into your hair when it is wet. Then later, after you make your tail. Just sparingly re-wet the frizzy hairs and slick them back. Sometimes, just adding a smidge more gel at this point helps too.

Hardly horrible pictures. Great hair!!!!!!!
You might want to try Aussie "DewPlex" Leave-in Conditioner + Styler in one. Put only a small amount in the palm of your hand, rub both hands together and smooth your hands over the "frizz" area. (Still helps me around the center part area...........the only place I use it.)
About the tail: There is a slight trick to it which only some practice will solve to get it just right for you. You could always walk into a Salon and just ask someone how to do it...........and at the same time you don't even need to get your hair cut. :-) Good Luck.
