Reflections After Vegas Trip

I just returned from a three-day trip to Las Vegas. Although I just went with my father (not exactly my first choice to spend a few days in Vegas with - no offense dad!), I had a good time and would like to share a few hair-relivant stories.
- I went into a convenient store inside of our hotel to purchase snacks and the older woman behind the counter asked me if she could borrow my hair. She didn't speak very good English, but from what I could make out, she said that my hair was much longer than hers, that she has had trouble growing hers out, and that she would like to borrow mine.
- Several times while out walking the strip in the evening, I had random strangers pass me by shouting "Longhair! Ya!" and "Dude the Hair's workin" and etc. with several high-fives exchanged. While I know that they were just pumped up from drinking, it is still a good feeling when people, who were all short-haired, show appreciation for long hair. Might be a bit vain, but I'm not perfect!
-Being only 19, I am not legally allowed to gamble, hang out in casios, or drink. I did, however, succeed in blending into the gambling crowd and gave up a few dollars to the slots. I had casino workers asking me if I would like to purchase drinks and treating me as if I were of legal age. I was also not even carded when I strolled into a 21+ dance club in our hotel (hey, you can always say you thouht it was 18+, right?) Underneath my hair and gotee, I know that I look much younger than 19. I don't think I would have been able to do any of the things that I did had I not the hair. I almost get the impression that especially in a place like Vegas, but in the general nightlife/party scene, well-groomed long hair really helps one out. Maybe places like to have diversity in appearances or something. It seems to me that if my hair did not make me appear older to everyone, those who were not fooled did nothing about it. There's some type of general respect for longhairs.
In conclusion, Vegas is a great place for long hair. I saw plenty of men with great hair (along with many, many beautiful women with long hair). I'd love to return to there once my hair is closer to terminal length.

Yeah Redleader !
I am glad you had a good time in Las Vegas. Not only will you find the open mindedness that you discovered on "the Strip", but the entire community is casual.
I live in a remote desert community about 100 NW of Vegas, so it is the nearest "town" to me for shopping etc. Outside of the tourist areas, Las Vegas has become a sprawling suburbia and you will find longhairs of all ages and occupations (a remarkable amount of men in the 40's, 50's, 60,s and up) and all very well accepted.
Did you happen to make it to the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton and visit with my favorite longhair, Worf the Klingon??
Next visit, try to get out of town and see some incrediably beautiful desert and mountains (no ID required ! HA!)
