Questions About Washing and Temperature

Two questions for you guys:
1. What is this I hear about refrigerating shampoos and conditioners? Is this supposed to do anything for my hair? I have a feeling this is tied in to question number two...
2. I know that it's best to rinse my hair with cold water (it is very straight, and lacks a bit of shine otherwise), but what water temperature should I consider when actually washing it? What about the conditioning temperature?

Never heard of refrigerating your shampoo/cond!! that sounds a little silly to me...maybe it keeps them fresh? lol. But I really cant see any other benefits - plus it sounds really inconvenient unless you get a little mini frige in your bathroom (aww they're so cute I want one!). As for washing temp most shampoo's I believe require some heat to work properly and as heat open the cuticle a bit, conditioner works better on warmer hair...but yeah a final rinse with coldish water closes the cuticle quicker and improves shine. (It closes by its self anyhow I believe just quicker i guess if you use cold water).
