A problem with CONES...

Well I do believe the stuff that I've been washing my hair with contains cones, which are often thought of as BAD... However, I like the results I get with these for a while, before the cones start to ruin it.
To solve this problem and still be able to use the Cone-contained products, would it work just to use a clarifying shampoo once a week and let that clear it up? That way I could keep using the shampoo and conditioner that I am. What do you guys think?

I can only speak of my own experiences with products which contain silicones.
I use (as needed) L'Oreal MELTing Gel (just a bit) and L'Oreal LIQUID Spray Gel.
Both these products contain silicones, but I have been using them for
over two years and my hair
is healthy, strong, shiny with NO split ends.
I shampoo everything out with ViVE Smooth Intense shampoo every
other day. In between, I either rinse
out my hair with water or I just dampen it in the shower.
Anyway, that is MY experience only, but I can tell you that my hair
is in excellent shape from the roots to the very tips.
Hope that helps.
