Question about Conditioning

Hi people, I wanted to get some feedback so I thought I'd ask.
Is there any harm in using conditioner everyday?
At the moment I was and condition every 2 days and just rinse on the day in between. - I probably don't need to wash that often, but its a habit I fell into after the heat of last summer. But I'm finding that on the day that I just rinse, I have a hell of job detangling and I'm worried I'm damaging my hair.
OK - I'm about to start using a new conditioner, which might improve my current situation anyway. But I'm wondering if there is any harm in using Conditoner every day? Even the days that I don't wash? What are the Pros/Cons of such a routine?
I think my present conditioner is drying my hair out anyway, which is making me more reliant on the conditioner, which of course drys my hair out even more so I'm a little concerned about getting into a spiral of damage.
Sorry if this seems like a repeated Question, I think we've talked a lot about how often to wash hair, but conditioning has always played second fiddle.
Thanks
Sorted

No - no harm using it everyday...but it does depend on what brand/type your using...its hard to answer because so many conditioners cause bad buildup esp if you dont wash before applying it. Its also fine to alternate washing, and cond everyday but again its depends on the cond used. I guess the cons to such a routine include dullness from buildup, scalp irritation again from buildup - only certain people and er ickiness feeling of your hair.
If your condioner is drying out your hair then it must be wrong for your hair or a really bad conditioner or you need to use a clarifier. Alternatively if you stick to your old routine of just rinsing on days and getting tangles try nioxin bliss spray - it detangles and moisturises and refreshes on none wash days....

No - theres not much protein in it, so its fine as long as it doesnt cause buildup on your hair and make it look dull go for it - im obsessed with buildup! Personally dont like 3 min miracle - used it for a few months but found my hair to feel very 'dry' when it was just rinsed and as it was drying...didnt like this feeling so I stopped using it. Theres far better products out there, for protien try joico kpak and just use a reg cond - reg salon brand that is : )

Howdy Sorted,
I don;t think that any harm can come of it, unless it starts to gunk up your hair or anything like that. I doubt drying would be a side effect.
BTW, what brand do you use?
I'm using:

I use Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions mostly cos I use the Herbal Essences Shampoo. The later was recommended to me by the stylist that cuts (trims) my hair, she said I should look for a shampoo that is clear in colour, not creamy as the creamy ones tend to contain the gunk that causes the build-ups.
(Basically a non-scientific approach to choosing drugstore hair products, no need to read the label.)
That said I'm about to start with a Salon brand REDKEN, I'm just waiting for the stuff to arrive cos I had to order it online and get it shipped, salon brands are hard to find in the colonies... ;-)
