SUp people ive been groing my hair for almost 6 -7 months and my hairs is very curly/ wavy. I usely slick it back with gel... If i dont it will puff out into a fro. I can't tell if my hair is damaged or not (I don't know what to look for Such as split ends or any thing, I know what they are I read these post all the time but I cant see that stuff in my hair ... its microscopic! : ) ) My hair is very dry so now i just bought this PErt plus 2 in 1 for dry hair, its alright better than pantene pro v I guess... My hair doesn't seem to be so healthy and i dont know how to take care of it well. I use a wide tooth comb but when I brush backwards after drying my hair it pull my hair a little ... its like my hair gets tangles or something. It doesn't hurt i guess its the curls but, I wish i could tell if my hair is healthy or not. I could definetly tell its dry. ANd the only thing i do to my hair is 1. Gel it 2. Pert plus 2in1 3. Wear a hat. THANK FOR READING FRiendS .. ALways a big help THANKS AGAIN

Im no expert but I think most of the people on this board would frown upon using 2 in 1 products.

If a 2 in 1 product suits you. Go for it. Try going longer between washings so your natural scalp oils work through your hair.
You may need to start giving your hair weekly warm oil treatments. Warm a little olive oil, jojoba oil or look for a good hair care oil treatment product and leave it on your hair for an hour or so before washing it out. That should help relieve some of the dryness.

...or special quality combs from beauty stores. Also, the best method is to simply use your fingertips. Each time you run your hand through your hair, you will spread the sebum, the natural oils.
If you have very dry hair, best to do is use a moisturising concitioner, leave the conditioner in for like 20-minutes, and avoid ingredients in shampoo's and conditioners that end with 'cones' as they dry the hair out.

The thing is my hair is so puffy and kinda frizzy i ve been using this widetoothe comb all day. I fell embaressed to go out side with my hair ungeled.... : ) it's to froish . I wanted to give me hair a break , as in not using gel for a week or so because like you said surfer dude the natrual oils. What i annoys me the most/or what i noticed... was that the back of my head the hairs back there seem to be the frizzyest and when i run my fingers thru it their rougher than the hairs on the front/ top of my scalp. And when i comb back there it hurts the most .. i guess because either tint knots or curly hair but it seems not so dry but just hard to maintan even when i gel it. If you ask some quetions about it i can answer them for you any advice is greatly appreciated : )
Ok this might help...

Try not using a wide toothed comb at all, and instead just use your fingers. Don't wash your hair everyday, as this isn't letting the oils get to your hair in such a short time. Also, this, which works for me and cuts the frizz down a bit, is when my hair is wet after washing and conditioning it, I make it part right through the centre where my scalp line is, and leave it to dry naturally with barely touching it at all for about an hour or so. Of course my hair type is probably different to yours. You probably need to 'train' your hair as its growing. Tell me what do you think?
