Update

I've gone through the most recent posts and grabbed what I could. I will now go to everyone's links and get updated photos for the pics page. The page will be updated tonight.
I think tomorrow I'll oil my hair before I do water changes on my fish tanks (it takes 3 hours which means a good, long soak in oil for my hair), let it dry after washing WITHOUT blow drying it. It's time for a deep conditioning, and without blowdrying...
Why? Because I'm seeing a lot of awkward stage questions from people with wavy/curly hair. I will show my ringlets to you. This will show all you awkward stage people out there with wavy/curly hair what you will get once you are past that awkward stage.
I hope my hair will inspire you to keep going.
I may not have time to tell you tomorrow, so I'll tell now:
I wash every other day, and condition. Once a week I use a deep conditioner, once a month I use extra virgin olive oil for 2-4 hours: I use this in place of hot oil, or another oil (like jojoba, etc.) because it's cheaper, right in my kitchen, and it does the same thing...minus the good smell.
I normally use a blow dryer and large round brush (after applying a leave in conditioner and using a "wide tooth" comb to remove tangles) to train my hair to do what I want and flatten/smooth it.
You will see ringlets you won't believe tomorrow! OK, they won't be as good as Nyghtfall's, but it will curl none the less.

Great love to see it. I have straight hair but have always admired ladies with curly locks.

You think my curls look good?
:: ponders ::
Yeah, I suppose they do. Thanks.

I'm sure it will! The oil is a good thing. I put coconut oil in occasionally, it's the only way I can wear my extremely thick hair loose (without gel), it looks like it's wet and falls about my face.
My hair is 2" past shoulders with the shortest layer at mid neck - I'm trying to grow these out - but I think that even at waist length my hair will be awkward stage, it's just too thick! Only mildly curly though.
Anyhow, thanks for the advice and sorry for raving!

Well, fish tank cleaning (in the basement anyway) has been put off until tomorrow. I did the couple tanks up here to get them out of the way (the 240 gallon is a pain in the butt) so I can concentrate on my bettas tomorrow. And my hair. It's really overdue for an intense oil treatment.
I'll post the pics tomorrow night...or knowing me, the day after. I'll put them under the others I have posted so you can see how different my hair looks when I don't blow dry.
