Bangs

I trimmed my bangs just a very little with some of the side hair to give it that "slight downward curve" (got tired of it all being even). Now my bangs stick out from behind my ears like wings when I tie my hair back. HELP!!!
Also, everybody tells me that trimming it makes it grow faster, it does seem to be growing a little faster, but it will still probably take at least 5 months for it to get as long as it was before I trimmed it. What have you guys got to say about all this?
you need to ask? n/t

What have I got to say about it: "Duh!!! What did you expect?"
You just trimmed a "very little"? But it'll take 5 months to grow back? You must have trimmed about 2.5 inches! On the scale of things thats a lot!
Trimming DOES NOT Make your hair grow faster, hair grows from the root not the ends, so trimming will not stimulate growth - Thats just a myth.
On the plus side - you hair probably looks more interesting when you wear it down now that there is a little variation in length.
What can you do... wait 5 months...

Please...........cease ANY cuttings or Trimmings for at least 1-1/2 years. At that time you might make a better judgement as to what you think needs to be done. Hair as it grows longer seems to have a way of evening itself out. To be a true Longhair..........the ONLY WAY to get there quickest is to let it grow...................* It is best to get the "Awkward Stage" out of the way as fast as possible so that you can really enjoy your hair. Trims and cuts will hold you up and keep you in the "Awkward Stage" just about forever if you have them often enough.
If what you have now really bothers you too badly........perhaps consider (but ONLY just this once) having your hair cut or trimmed to what pleases you. After that, no more. Good Luck.
Something doesn't add up here Ivix...

Something doesn't add up here Ivix. You've been posing for a while. Back in March you were "very angry" that someone told you you looked like a slob and your mom was making you cut your hair. Now you say you voluntarily trimmed 5 months growth off your hair. Your post literally covers all the "hot button" issues on this message board: trimming makes hair grow faster, trimming bangs will make it look better, dealing with "wings" during the awkward stage by trimming. These are all the most common misconceptions held by new menbers yet you're not new here. You have asked questions in the past and got very good advice. And now this odd post make me wonder what you want us to say.
