Olive oil and eggs

My friend told me to this over the summertime. I haven't done it in a while since I have run out of oil. But I wanted see how many people have tried using olive oil and eggs in their hair.
If you don't know what I mean: You take half a cup of olive oil and one egg and beat it together as best as you can. Then you comb it through you hair and leave it for 10 minutes. Then rinse and shampoo.
Please don't try this yet. I don't know if it is damaging or not.
I was told it helps make your hair look healthy and shiny.
I just want to get some feedback from other people if a) they have heard about it and b) they're success.

I've tried it - it is not damaging to the hair, but it is hella hard to wash out! I looked greasy for a few days, it just wouldn't come out. (same for mayonnaise, which you may also hear of as home conditioning treatment. Mayo is essentially the same thing - oil and eggs.) My recommendation would be to skip the kitchen chemistry and just purchase a good deep conditioning treatment, if that's what you need - or, leave your regular conditioner on for a good, long time to let it soak in very well.

its only a protien oil treatment in one....id just use proper protien treatment with a intensive cond, and it'll probably be better.

I would eat the eggs while letting my hair soak in the oil.
