It doesn't sound like he's worrying about it at all.
I doubt I'll loose much hair (grandad's (mum's dad) 67, and he's got a pony tail and a full head of hair, some grey bits, dad's 43, hasn't gone bald yet), but if I do, depending on how much I go bald, I'll either just leave it or shave all the faded bits ang give myself a mullet.

To be honest, I'd be really really upset if I went bald, and would probably try everything to keep it, and anyway, by that time, new treatments should be available (I'm only 17!)
As for my family, my grandfather (dad's side) was 91 and still had a full head of hair, my grandfather (mothers side) was 76 and had a full head of hair also, with about just under half of his hair naturally black! My dad's 66 and he's got a full head of hair also so I don't think I'll go bald:)

do'nt ever let It fall out. I am a 36yo gay male who had a similar youth to yours. My parents (and Strict christian schools) would not let me grow my hair long. I so much wanted to have long hair but was never allowed . When I left school at 16 I vowed never to go near a barbers shop ever again, and apart frum 2 moments of madness where I went short again (the last time was over 12 years ago) I have always kept my hair long.
My hairline has been receeding since I was about 19 or 20 but thankfully very very slowly and it is only the last couple of years that i have had to think about getting a buzz cut or shaving my head. My hair is about 5" past my shoulders and It still looks ok long. every time I think about cutting it off and I feel it around my shoulders and down my back I can't bring myself to do it. Long hair is so much a part of me, I am really passionate about it that I have decided to keep it. There is onne of the top hair transplant surgens in Sydney where I live and I am going to see him. It will probably cost me around 50 to 100 thousand dollars to have enough hair transplanted to look good but you only live once and like I said I'm very passionate about having long hair. Some people think I'm nuts but I don't live my life worrying about what other people might think. I'd rather spend money on having a good hair that feels great than trying to impress people with a flashy car or something else, and anyway I'm not really interested in shallow minded people who are easily impressed with that sort of crap.
you only live once so live it the way you want to and don't let the opinions of others sway you.
If you think baldness may be a problem for you later in life then plan for it now. obviously you're still at school so you have'nt started a career yet. This might be the best piece of advice you ever recieve - start learning now about money. learn how to invest your money, study rich people and find out how they got that way. Richard Branson is a good example read his autobiography-he really has lived life to the fullest. Read everything you can about buying and silling real estate and shares. If you do this at your age you will be set for life and when your hair falls out you will have enough money to replace it. School only teaches you to be a wage slave. You have the internet, read, read, read, I've only done this over the last few years but once you know a few "secrets" it's easy.
I had some thoughts on your last post too and if you're as passionate about long hair as I am (and I suspect that you are) well you may have just had your last haircut. The U.N. has in place a treaty known as the convention on the rights of the child
if you go to www.crin.org you will find information on this. I am sure that under that treaty your parents cannot force you to cut your hsir if you don't want to, it does of course depend on whether the country you live in is a signatury to it or not. It may seem drastic to threaten your parents with legal action but there have been cases where children have taken up issues in international courts. I'm sure that If you let them know how much having long hair means to you they may come around but the threat of actually going to such an extreme will certainly enforce that. You may also have common law rights as well It depends where you live.
Hope this helps. If your parents still wont give in, please don't kill yourself. In a few short years you'll be able to grow your hair as long as you like and noone will be able to interfere. You're only young and life is definately a lot of fun, all the best to you.
