No it doesn't, hair grows from the roots not the tips so trimming your hair will offer no stimulation for growth.

Basically, trimming the ends has nothing to do with stimulating growth at the roots. Hair is dead. The only good reason for trims is to remove any damage (breakage, split ends). If you hair is damaged and breaking, it will begin to limit growth, therefore trimming at this stage may appear to stimulate growth. My hair reached this point once before after about 3 years.
Bottom line, if you want it to grow, don't trim unless you have visible damage.

It's a bit like taking all these pills and potions to make your hair grow faster!
