Description:
Evaluates and recommends various software and hardware solutions to meet user needs. Interacts regularly with business users to define current and future application requirements. Prepares detailed flow charts, diagrams, and specifications from which programs will be written. Executes schedules, costs and documentation to ensure project comes to successful conclusion. Assists in coordinating activities of lower level programmers and analysts. Initiates corrective action to stay on schedule. May periodically assist in
orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level
employees. Manages and prioritizes work assignments based on project
deadlines. Integrates knowledge of business needs when selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of application programming processes and procedures to the completion of complex assignments. Competent to analyze diverse and complex problems. Possesses and applies broad knowledge of principles of application .
Required skills: MUST be familiar with PICK, UniData or Universe database environments and have experience programming within that environment in UniBasic programming code. Perfer someone with DBA for Systems Admin experience in same environment. Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of professional experience preferred. Anyone who has developed accounting, payroll or hospital databases might be familiar with these environments.
