FTD.COM – August 1999 to January 2002
Senior Programmer/Analyst

One major responsibility was the Oracle data warehouse. Created all the programs that load the data from the transaction system to the Oracle system via ODBC. Designed and created all the initial Oracle tables. Wrote some of the PL/SQL scripts that refresh the data warehouse data. Performed DBA responsibilities in addition to development work. Responsible for the administration of the Oracle Discoverer product that is a graphical reporting tool for end users. At one time was the sole employee with support and development duties for the Oracle system. Other major responsibility was support of the Pick legacy system. This was comprised of user support and programming support and development. An ongoing project included marketing programs that interface between web, order entry and customer database to provide points and miles for various airlines and points providers. Started as a consultant and exemplarily work was rewarded by offer of employment commencing 9/2000. Received training courses in Oracle and Java.

Independent Consultant– June 1996 to September 2000

Had a primary contract from 8/99 to 9/00 with FTD.COM, a retail & delivery company that receives orders from phone and Internet and processes them on an Advanced Pick HP machine. Duties included programming and user support for legacy system to free permanent employees to develop new system, mass emailing, interfacing Pick to web and email, and interviewing candidates for additional consulting positions.
Performed contract work for several companies including the trucking industry, manufacturing and catalog distribution. This involved working with various systems including Visual Basic, Access, Pick, and Alpha 4. This included networking as well as programming. Additionally, I have done PC configuration, upgrade and hardware work.

The Systems House Inc. – Rosemont, IL -June 1996 to March 1999
Consultant/Senior Programmer Analyst: Involved in development and maintenance of a complete package for the office products industry. Managed a major project of changing of the order & invoice number structure which involved modifying over 800 programs. Other noteworthy projects were a major product file structure change and Year 2000 compliance coding. This was accomplished in a UniData environment. Started as a consultant and became a full time employee.

Computer Rental Corporation of America ? April 1995 to May 1996
MIS Manager: Hands-on responsibility for maintenance and new development of an Advanced Revelation database. Additional responsibilities include network and hardware support. Was basically a one-man computer department.

Programmer Analyst: Responsible for maintenance and support of Payroll and Billing module of package marketed to Home Health Care agencies in a primarily Advanced PICK environment. Additional responsibilities are network administration and support of data communications.

Data Processing Systems Manager: Had sole responsibility for all aspects of data processing in a 50 user Ultimate environment. Responsibilities included all programming maintenance and development, operations, user support and hardware maintenance. Hardware included a Honeywell DPS6, PC's and Macintoshes.

Programming Manager

Responsibilities included supervision of programming staff of two, maintenance and support of hardware, analysis and scheduling of programming assignments, and creation and implementation of programs.

Developed and initiated operational procedures and programming standards and tools that increased the efficiency and accuracy of programming staff.

Senior Programmer: Assisted in problem solving rewrite of applications system, which included inventory control, order entry, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
Designed and implemented sales and marketing tools that generated parameter specific reports that identified products based on customer requirements profiles. Also wrote systems to convert MARC and BISAC electronic records (EDI) to PICK format.

Programmer Analyst

Developed, programmed and implemented applications in Prime Information according to client specifications. Applications comprised insurance claims and accounting functions.

Duties included maintenance and custom programming. Specific applications were invoicing, order entry and purchasing. Secondary responsibilities were client training and support, file fix programming, and system recovery.
