I've discovered a very simple calendar
(originally mentioned on CALNDR-L on 1999-08-17)
that uses the 33-year cycle and a 17-day cycle called a Dove.
The first year has 21 doves and years alternate
between 21 and 22 doves for 33 years.
I've decided to name the days of the dove
a
to q
and the doves
of the year A
to
U
or V
,
so that New year's day is Aa
.
I also chose the new year such the March 20 in the
Cecil-Dee 33-year cycle calendar
is always in the last dove.
Amos suggested naming the Doves after the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
The dove calendar has the following table of new years:
1980-03-29, 1981-03-21, 1982-03-30, 1983-03-22 1984-03-30, 1985-03-22, 1986-03-31, 1987-03-23, 1988-03-31, 1989-03-23, 1990-04-01, 1991-03-24, 1992-04-01, 1993-03-24, 1994-04-02, 1995-03-25, 1996-04-02, 1997-03-25, 1998-04-03, 1999-03-26, 2000-04-03, 2001-03-26, 2002-04-04, 2003-03-27, 2004-04-04, 2005-03-27, 2006-04-05, 2007-03-28, 2008-04-05, 2009-03-28, 2010-04-06, 2011-03-29, 2012-04-06
This repeats every 33 years exactly in the 33-year cycle calendar and approximately in the Gregorian calendar.
