WHAT OF DENNIS?

I'm worried for that kid. If his father was as bad as he described, the kid might have ended up with his cyberlink cut as well as his hair. OR....The whole thing might have been a troll. Anybody know?

Cyberspace is just full of mysteries, isn't it? :-)

Yeah, but the exercise was worth it even if Dennis doesn't get the opportunity to check back. It was even worth it if the post was not genuine. Why? Because it caused us to discuss a real problem longhaired youth have and collect our feelings about appropriate ways to deal with it. For every person who posts, many more just read, and the answers we provided Dennis may well help a number of youth whose names we never see.
While we're on the topic, once in a while someone drops in here with a problem where they need more help than what they can get on a web board. If someone is being physically abused, or threatened with such, they need support "in the flesh". Some of these youth have no longhair friends or others they can turn to.
There are agencies which provide support for abused youth. Perhaps some of us should accumulate a resource list for times like this. Perhaps we should contact such groups for suggestions on how to handle these cases. We need to develop a game plan. When crises come up, we need to already have it in hand.
If any of the regulars on this board are interested in working on such a project, drop me an e-mail: bill@choisser.com

no, I have longhair and im 15 and I dont have problems. The only ones with problems are the dork and weirdo ones. My hair has helped me alot. I had sex with my teacher pretty much just because we both have the same hair style sometimes, french braid. She's like 22, and really hot, and we did it in her car after school. I was a little late to football practice.
