Ponytail length

How long would it take for my hair t oget tied back into a ponytail? I'm 18 not and I'm going to college. My last haircut was in May so my hair is now pretty thick and almost touching my shoulders. If I had a pic I'd show you. It's not curly but it gets thick in the back(not like a mullet though) How long do you think until I can tie it back into something?

I think the answer to your question depends on the kind of ponytail you are referring two. In my experience, I think I can say 9 months is long enough to grow enough hair to have a tiny bit coming out of a rubber band. Of course, it takes longer if you're aiming for what seems to be a popular style--a ponytail where all the hair, including the front, is greased and pulled back into a ponytail. And if you want the kind of pony tail I'm aiming for--the loose, hanging, just enough to keep it out of the stew ponytail--then I think we will both be waiting a coupla years.

to calculate the time you can expect, get a tape measure & measure from the front of your hairline to the point that your tail will be tied. if you have a buzz cut that measurement (in inches) doubled represents the number of months it will take for all of your hair to reach the tie- this is assuming your hair grows at a normal rate, about ½ inch per month.

i read your original post... it took me a couple years for all of mine to reach a ponytail... i would guess you have a little more than a year- maybe as much as 1½ years.
