My Ponytail experience

Well, this morning, after showering and shaving, I combed my hair. No the thickness of it, I greased it back and saw I could barely put it into a ponytail. As I went downstairs, my parents told me to go get a haircut. In reluctance, I went t oget one after lunch. While in the barber shop I was looking at the pictures of men's hairstyles. I saw an intruging one in the Flashy Style section. As my name was called I pointed to the pic asked the hairdresser, "Is this long enough?" He said he'd have to measure it. I got my hair shampooed and then sat in the chair patiently while he measuerd my hair. The dresser said, "Barely" I said I'd go with it. So he shaved between my outer hair and head. When he was done, I looked about the same but my hair was just a little shorter and thinner. Then came the tieing the hair back. He tugged it a bit but he got it to go back. He then greased it and tied it into a ponytail with a rubberband. He told me to sit a few minutes for the grease to dry. After dryign a bit, he said my hair would look better with highlights. So he applyed them and I looked pretty good. I stopped home and put my earring in(hey, it's a look) and I went to exploit to my gf and other friends. Some of them believe their eyes, while others loved the look. My parents had the worst reaction. It wasn't the ponytail that made them mad. It was the highlights...

The worst reaction I ever had to my hair was when I was 18 or 19, living at home, and had a blue streak put in my hair. (Hey, it was 1985 or so, and it was a look...) He about had a heart attack. But, realizing that what was done was done, he calmed down after a couple days.
About a year later I let a friend (who was in beauty school at the time) do a two-tone bleach job on it. Again, VERY 1980's. Not the best look, especially in a conservative rural town, but what the heck.

I was thinking of bleaching it but it didn't look good.
