Minoxidil

My doctor just put me on minoxidil today for my blood pressure. I recall reading somewhere that it has about an 80% rate of hair growth as a side effect when taken orally.
Does anybody here have experience with oral preparations of minoxidil rather than the topical versions? if I've got to take it anyway, having the hair growth (especially on top) would be quite welcome.

My husband was put on that for high blood pressure when he was on dialysis for 5 years. He was bald when he started with alot of body hair, and he was bald when he ended with more, longer body hair. This is just one person though, good luck to you, i hope your results are better.

What a coincidence, I'm a dialysis patient as well! I had great hair growth (all over) after my first transplant (thanks to all the prednisone I think) but once I came off the immunesuppressants about a year ago, I've had a continual loss of the body hair.

2 yrs so far with this transplant, no body hair loss yet, other than that i don't know what to tell you. Sorry, but good luck getting a second kidney! Hope it isn't a long wait.
