Now that's funny.
I bet this got into the New Yorker because Mankoff found it hilarious. For those who don't know what on earth I'm talking about, Bob Mankoff, the cartoon editor of the New Yorker, has hair that drapes down over his shoulders... Has for years.
Myself, I agree that the "super short all over but long in the back" look does, well, make one look like a nincompoop.
Nincompoop. That's a funny word.
