Hair advise

I'm a 42 year old male with straight blond hair. Since I was about 12 years old, I've always liked long hair on guys and have since wanted to grow my own mane to see how long I could get it before I was too old for it to look good on me.
Then disaster struck......I was losing my hair, not quickly, but fast enough that I could notice the difference.
This bothered me enough to do something about it. I tried Rogaine but found little effect on the hair growth. I did find that it stopped the hairloss somewhat though. This wasn't enough...I needed something else. Over the past 6 years, I've had 3 hair transplant procedures performed; the most recent in April of this year (my head's still a bit numb above the doner area). I'm also taking a supplement drug called Propecia. It has some sexual disfunctional side effects that I'm willing to live with for the time being until I can see the results it has on this mane of mine.
The good news, the combination of the surgery and the drugs is working for me. I'm considering a 4th and final transplant procedure next year to give me more density but I'm quite happy with the results so far. My hair's pretty thick at the back and the rest is coming along quite nicely.
Now I'd like to grow my hair to at least the centre of my back. At the moment, it's past shoulder length and sits beween my shoulder blades. I've been told that I'll need a lot of patience till at least the summer or 2001 as this is the maddening stage of hair growth.
I'm willing to sit through this stage as long as I know the results will show at the end.
Here's my situation.....my head's full now but the hair at the front which is to the tip of my nose is quite dry and somewhat dull. The ends are also a bit dry at the back. It's been recommended to me to try Flax Seed but I'm wondering if anyone out there can recommend a regime that works to ensure a healthy, shiney growth of hair.
Thanks

I can't think of anything in particular apart from maintaining a healthy diet (bananas and nuts are good for hair), mild excercise and being gentle with your hair.

I have good hair, even so i found ways to improve it. My relatives are from India and have great hair; so, I give you some small tips.
You can try:
evening primrose oil;
traditional hair care:
- use oils on your hair, such as coconut oil or simply cooking olive oil; comb or massage oil through your hair and keep it for at least 2 or 3 hours, or overnight; then shampoo it as usual; coconut oil for the hair is seen as very traditional in India and Phillipines area;
also, other oils can help, such as castor oil, Amla oil(from Indian grocery stores, etc.);
- stop medications as they may interfere with your immune system, creating side effects;
- do not shampoo hair daily, as most shampoos have many chemicals; (maybe every 2 or 3 days will do);
- lastly, be patient;
