When does the awkward phase end?

I am in my 7th month of hair growth and I am just wondering when the awkward phase ends. I know you guys are going to say it's different for everyone but how about a estimate in months? Thanks.

9 months for me. My hair looked OK for 3 months after I had my last haircut, then started looking shabby, so I started using gel to keep it all back. I didn't trim it or anything -- I wanted to get out of the awkward phase ASAP so I figured any kind of trim would hold me back. I used the gel for about 9 months, and finally my hair was long enough for all of it to get into a ponytail that I could tie a little above my neck, and then I stopped using the gel.
So maybe you're almost there! Good luck.

Took me a year or so. I had a couple of trims in the meanwhile to keep it looking halfway decent in the in-between stage. I also wore a hat or a bandanna a lot!
