How can I grow my hair out?

I'm a black 14 yr old boy turning 15 next month. I've been growing my hair out for 2 months. I know that it takes at least a year for hair grow to be 6 inches. But is there anyway I can speed up the process a bit?

try looking farther down the board for topics about biotin and fo-ti, you can also try searching the archive for those words.
biotin and fo-ti are supposed to make your hair grow faster, I seriously doubt it works though :-) at least not to the extent some people are reporting (not for me anyways, maybe it works better for you)
cheers,
james

I'm a white guy whose hair is curly and needs constant moisturizer. I think your best source of advice would be from an Black-owned Styling Salon. I say this because I had Hair Extensions done right after Highschool in order to fit the 80s Heavy Metal image and get a paying road gig. My hair went from shoulder-length to waist-lenght with the help of a black lady who really knew what she was doing. She also turned me on to many "ethnic" hair care products that most whites never try, such as Creme of Nature shampoo and Hask Placenta Conditioner. You should post your subject to reflect that you want advice on African hair and then more black men will respond with their personal experiances, I'm sure there are other black men on the board. Let them know your race in you subject heading and you'll find more help sooner. Good Luck!!!
