Went looking for it today. I could not buy it separately. There is a male multi vitamin that has it as one of the ingredients. Is this fine?

If you went to GNC, you're probably talking about "Men's UltraHairNourish". That's fine, has 1000 mcg/pill, daily dose=2.
GNC also has "Biotin 300" and "Biotin 600"; these are often in what they consider the women's supplements: they are fine for men, too.
I'm about 11 months into my growth, and take 2 UltraNourishHair (morning, evening) and 3 to 4 Biotin 600 spread over rest of day & evening, for about 4400 mcg/day. No problems noticed, I'm pleased with the growth. Biotin also enhances general metabolism, I believe; at least I've found it easier to maintain my weight since I've been taking it.

I wonder what that shit does to your liver and other organs....artificially increasing your metabolism seems like a harsh strain to your organs and stuff. I don't know a whole lot about it but I have read some.

Look at the various sites offering drug toxicity and interaction info. Apparently, biotin has no known adverse effects in doses up (I think) 10 mg/day (10,000 mcg /day). 5000/day, at least should present *no* problems. The worst that should happen is the excess over what your body can use is passed when you urinate (and you waste some money Longest Hair on Men In Reply to: Re: Biotin posted by slacker on July 23, 2001 at 08:41:35: Hi everybody----- i suppose it may seem strange to say, but I feel a camraderie with all you people----it's because of your comments and encouragement to each other that I have kept my hair long, and it is now over 25 inches long. I really enjoyed the pictures of the men with the longest hair; it's too bad it's been almost two years since that feature has been updated.

And now...a question or two to Webmaster Victor and anyone else who might care to respond.....
Victor, I was wondering if you have considered putting up pictures of yourself--- since I believe you recently stated your hair is 45 inches long. I have seen previous pictures of you, but not with hair that long. 45 inches seems amazing and quite awesome to me.....especially since I think we're in the same age range (mid thirties). If you don't mind me asking, Victor, have you noticed any difference in the thickness or texture of your hair than when you were younger? Although I am not balding, I notice my hair is not quite as thick as it once was. I'm wondering if this comes with age.....also, since you can grow it that long, I was wondering if you have any recession (no matter how slight)----i have a very slight frontal recession myself with no excessive hair loss. I was just wondering if that might be the reason i am not able to achieve a length like yours. I take excellent care of my hair....I'm just wondering if my genetics have now made my hair reach its maximum length ...... It has been more than six years since I have had short hair....and I was hoping my hair would have been waistlength by now instead of just midback...
Anyway, thanks for any feedback......
And if I may offer my two cents of advice to comments tied to a recurring theme I see time and again on this messageboard : if any of you are wondering whether you should cut your hair because others want you to (and you really don't want to): be strong, and ignore those people. I know, i know----it's easier said than done; but in the long run, it doesn't matter a damn what others think, only what makes you happy. That's trite, but it's true: if the people that you are close to care more about your hair length than your character (or in the case of your employer, your professionalism and ability), they aren't really worth your time, and there's some deeper issue going on with them beside hair length. Life is too short to please others at the expense of your own happiness. (Otherwise, in my own case, I would have grown my hair long since I was a teen-ager-- if I hadn't succumbed to other's wishes instead of my own.) I understand sometimes you have to compromise and maybe even make sacrifices for people you love, but the question is: if they really love and respect you, why would the issue of your hair length even matter to them? There's too many other, more-pressing concerns to think about than how long someone's hair is.
Sermon over. Amen!
