to trim or not to trim

I read a message on here recently about trimming hair in back to get rid of curls and the "duck tail" look. My hair is about 5 or so inches all the way around and the bottom does curl back on itself (I have pretty wavy hair). How much should I chop back? I'm kinda reluctant to take a backward step but if this improves the appearance of the hair in the long run then I'm for it. --blake

Don't chop back anything! As your hair grows out this problem will
take care of itself. If you cut back now, you will forever be in the
same situation. MG

Ugh, I got forced into "trimming" my hair again to "reduce" that curling and once again its worse than it was before. I wouldnt do it if I were you :(
