Thinking long-term

The more it grows (about 9 months now from almost bald) the more I realize this is a long-term project! The term "long" keeps redifining itself as I graduate to longer lengths of hair. I thought by now I'd have a decent ponytail, but not just yet. It's like watching the pot that never boils! I'm realizing now it may not be until next year that it will really be long enough, and even then, who knows, I may still want it longer. Anyway, this is teaching me patience, and above all, self-acceptance. I'm enjoying watching different stages of hair length and seeing how my hair behaves, even though sometimes I wish it would behave differently. It's kind of like a pillow under my head at night. I can shake it back and forth. And I love putting on a T-shirt and (in the last week or so) noticing that some of my hair has to be pulled out from under my collar...it helps me feel like I'm getting somewhere. Thanks to everyone for your inspiration and example. Keep it long and healthy!

I hear ya blake,
even though I only have chin length hair at the back which doesn't even go into a ponytail yet (even though I don't particularly want a ponytail), it is the longest I have ever had my hair in my life (I'm 18). I also agree with the "pot never boiling" syndrome which we all seem to have had, but it is definitely worth it when you get past that annoying stage of growth and it gets better and easier the longer it gets.
Hang in there, the ponytail will soon be upon you i'm sure !!!!!
