Thick hair in a bob... Bad idea?

I have thick hair, that is currently down to my eyes (nothing amazing, yet) and I want to grow it into a bob, like Kurt Cobain...
... Now I know that the thickness of my hair will make it different in appearance to Kurt's... But I was wondering if a bob is a bad idea? Will it puff out (as it does at the moment), or will it settle under its own weight? Will it look stupid, or good?

To be like Kurt Cobain the first thing you'll need is plenty of lead......

I think growning your hair out is a good thing, well of course i am going to say that cuz im a huge fan of the whole grunge thing, and i love the look...im nirvanas biggest fan, but yet i think that if ur hair is fluffing out already, leaving it at kurts length isnt the best idea, if i were you i would let grow even longer than that and let it be the way eddie vedder used to have it from when they made the ten ablbum.
