Big, fuzzy hair

I am trying to grow my hair out, it's probably 5 1/2 - 6 inches now. My problem is, that instead of being nice and sleak, it is fluffy and kind of mushrooms out on the sides. Also, have bangs in the front that are really long, and i don't want to part my haird down the middle because i look like a douche bag with out being able to put it behind my ears yet. What do i do with my hair when it isn't long, but isn't short, it's just hanging in my eyes. And what do i do about my big hair, will an undercut help? Thanks

Try going without using shampoo. The trick is to rinse the hair every day under hot water. This keeps the hair clean, but does not dislodge the natural oil so that you hair will get heavier and not frizz out so much.
That got me through the awkward stage, although my hair is mostly straight.
Once it gets long enough, tying it in a ponytail will pull it back toward the head. Then you could start using shampoo again :-)
There may also be solutions for you that consist of using hairpins
to constrain the hair, and in such a way that they are not visible.
Good luck!

Why not just enjoy your long hair and what will be will be. Enjoy each stage of "growing long hair" as it goes along. If your bangs are long, make the most of it! On windy days in particular, mine are way past my chin--I just push them aside with my fingers and move on. Relax and enjoy!!! Good luck!

Nah, don't cut it . . . try some sort of "shine" product that has cyclomethicone and/or dimethicone stuff in it. Use it sparingly, a little goes a long way. I've used CitriShine, a single drop (maybe two) rubbed in your palms and then into your hair will weigh the hair down pretty well. It'll also attract dust & dirt, so you'll need to wash your hair at least every other day (use a gentle shampoo so you don't dry your hair). There are some spray versions of the same stuff made by various companies that work just as well, usually a clear liquid with the word "Shine" on the package, and it will list ingredients with the -cone suffix. Available at your local drugstore, Wally World, etc.
Also, I've used something called "Transforming Paste" made by Aquage (has lots of lanolin wax, vaseline, and mineral oil in it) that works well. Again, just half a dab will do ya -- about as much as a split pea worked into your hair will do what you want. Their "Fortifying Ultragel" helps, and smells good, too.
Good luck,
