Backstreet Boy Escaped Awkward Stage?

Well, this guy Kevin from the Backstreet Boys grew his hair out pretty long, but, unfortunately, it seems like he got it cut when I saw him in the American Music Awards. Same thing happened to that other Backstreet Boy Howie who had really long hair, and he managed to keep it straight at times even though it was curly.
Anyway, I haven't entered the awkward stage yet, my hair still being short, but I've gone through it before, and I don't want to do it again. I had always wondered whether or not I would still have long hair if I had just shaped it while it was semi-long. (I got it cut, and now I'm sorry.) I think I might follow the example of Kevin, who looked like he escaped this frightening period by shaping it. I observed he waited for the back to grow long first before he allowed his bangs to be the same length. Here's some pictures of his hair in various lengths.
What do you guys think?

Yeah Kevin cut it off.Howie cut his off because kevin was growing his so i guess that bsb didnt want to look old and like they were copying the beatles. But i dont think Kevin did it to escape the awkward
stage because in september 2001, it was almost all one length.
However he did have cornrows alot and colored it too much so his hair probably had really
bad slip ends and was probably breaking off, thus the only way to
fix it would been to cut it off.I did cornrows to mine back in sept. and i had to cut off a inch and a half.Maybe thats a lesson though, if you want
long hair dont put cornrows in it ruins it.I'm sure kevin knows that

Unfortunately, you will get a page saying
Forbidden
You must supply a local referer to get URL '' from this server.
Though it might have said something differently the last time I checked!
What that means is that you can only get pictures while you are in GeoCities! (Not while you are in HyperBoard, etc.) Of course, "local referer" might refer to your cache, where you might already have the picture to show!

Also keep in mind that theses guys have a team of pros working on their hair constantly, so it may have looked like he didn't go through an awkward stage, but he probably had a stylist making it look perfect everytime he appeared in the public.
