Was I getting old before my time...?

Hi guys,
I'm a 17 year old schoolkid and I have been growing my hair for about 15 months and my bangs are about 2 and a half inches below my chin, I can now ponytail it all but if the wind blows the front tends to blow loose.
Anyway, for a while now I have been worrying about several things the first of which is a receeding hairline. EVERYONE I ask tells me that my hairline is perfectly normal and is not receeding but I must just have a large forehead because I'm constantly concious of this, anyone else feel this way?
My biggest worry is splitends. I have checked the tips of my bangs and my mother has also checked my hair and we both agree I do not have any, but after 15 months isn't it advisable to have gone for a few trims? I know this board is completely against trimming but I have a constant fear of the condition of my hair and that any damage could make me go bald or receede. I wash and condition my hair about twice a week.
Has anyone got any advice for me? Or am I being over the top?
Thanks guys,
Paddy B

Without seeing a pic of you, it is hard to give my opinion on whether you have any recession. I've been worried about mine since I was 14 but at 30 now, I feel pretty happy with it. I think there has been a little recession but not too bad. I keep record of it on my hair site. I would suggest you doing what I do. Take pics every 6 months of your hairline and then compare.

i realize this is kind of off topic, but i did not want to take the time to email you. and i also thought i should recommend your page to anyone who might read this.
anyway, i like your page and the pictures over time are interesting. however, i notice you have lots of broken links. if you could possibly take some time out to fix them, i would love to check out the rest of your page.
thank you very much, in advance. :)

Actually, I don't have ANY broken links. I take care to make sure my site is accurate. If a picture didn't load and there's a red "x" just right click on it and select 'show picture'. This is not the fault of the design of the website.
If there was a problem other than this please let me know specifically which link you are having a problem with.

The roots of your hair have absolutely no idea what is happening at any other part of your hair. Trimming will not have any affect on baldness. If you don't have split ends, then you do not need to trim. Even if you do have split ends, many people feel that you still do not need to trim.
