Trying out longhair look

This may sound stupid, but if a guy is interested in seeing what he would look like with long hair, can't he 1. try on some longhaired wigs or pony tail extensions in his hair color, or 2. Computer modification of photo's? The idea of having the long hair is cool, but 2 years of not knowing what it will look like and looking bad for a long time doesn't seem the intelligent way to make the decision.
What do you guys think? Tom

Tom, I am a woman with waist length hair. Growing out hair takes patience but it doesn't mean that you or your hair needs to look bad during that time. Get regular trims and shape ups. A good hair dresser or groomer can be your best friend during this time. Just be sure to tell him/her that you are growing your hair long. As for trying on hair pieces--that's an idea. I like the computer modification better. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. My hair grows quite fast, about an inch a month, except at the base of my neck (much slower.) The longest I've ever had it was about 8" and it was permed (I was 29). Now my hair is 1/2" or less. I have a beard, round face and short neck. Just wondering if long hair would look OK (make the face/neck look longer) I have ash blond colored hair.
There is a place closeby that does hair extensions. I'm sure that's expensive, but could be a way to have long hair and just trim the extensions till the real hair gets long. Tom

I have uploaded a recent photo of myself, what do you think about long hair with my facial features? Thanks. Tom

Don't bother with either. The only way to see how it will really look
on you is to actually do it. I've never seen a wig that looks better thanm the real thing. As far as computer simulation, the software isn't there yet.
