LONG hair

Hi.
Just a question that intrests me:
I've always considered long hair(for males) to be no longer than chest length (and I'm planning to grow it shorter than that) and I think that this length is considered "mainstream" as far as long hair for men is usually considered in society.
I'm intrested to know why u waist length longhairs decided to grow it to such length and not stop at earlier stages?doesn't it take u a lot of time to take care of it?are u getting a lot of comments from people?or for that matter how does it feel to have this amount of hair? :)
Have fun,
Adi.

why do i grow it to my waist (& beyond)? simple... because i want it that length. it may take a bit longer to care for- but not as much time as you would expect- they key is keeping it out of the way (tying back) for some activities. you need to be constantly aware of it to prevent it from being a hazard- getting caught in machinery and such.
the feel of hair on my back to my waist is great... and i havent heard a negative comment in a while- i take some good natured sh*t at work but it doesnt bother me- after all i did choose to grow my hair to this length- comments go with the territory.

when I'm around people who will complain about my long hair, I just put it up in a bun so they cant see how long it is. I want people who see my hair appreciate it, I just wish my hair was floor length, then if they complained, it woukd then be obvious that they really were jealous

I don't worry about what society thinks. I grow it long because I love it. No it is not hard to take care of at all. I only get great comments from men and women. All men and women should have long hair.
Jesus is described as having long hair, and so did some of the greatest warriors and rulers in the history of the world. If it was good enough for them then, it's good enough for us now too. People in this world are ignorant and always follow the politically correct road. The hell with them. Society doesn't pay my bills, so if they don't like guys with long hair, that's their problem. I have hair down to my ass and love it. Rock on.

Halfway to waist just now but I'm going for hip length at least because I've just gotta gotta know the experience or BUST !! No matter how much time it'll take to look after it, no matter what anyone says or thinks !! Because I simply can't wait to know what it feels like to have all that wonderful hair for ever.
If it helps look at it this way..think of the all money you'll save your next of kin on a shroud.
Have fun too :-)
Nuff said ! ;-)

Why do I have hair below the waist? Because it is there. It's the
same reason we climb moutains.
I've had every length and style imaginable, From a buzz cut down to
below the knee. I've had perms, mullets, you name it i've had it.
The bottom line: it is my hair and i'll do with it what I want.
I liked having waist length best.
Many say how much they love it. Some say how they hate it.
The ones who hate it are jealous because I have
hair to grow and they don't.
You show me a boss who hates your long hair and
I'll show you a boss who is jealous because he has no
hair.

I hear ya, DW!
My hair has been every style imaginable. I never had the mullet thing going, but I did have the shaved sides once. Won't do that again.
I've gone from waist length up to what I have now, which is about halfway down my back. I had no trouble taking care of it waist length, but did have problems like it getting stuck in the seatbelt of the car or the window when I rolled it up. You want pain, try reaching over to get something in the passenger seat without realizing your hair is caught in a rolled up window! OUCH!
I loved having hair down to my ass, but I actually much prefer it where it is now.
But hell...everyone should have their hair exactly how they want it!
And DW is right...those who talk shit about long hair are those who just wish they had it!

yeah I agree I've just started growing it around 6-7 months ago but I didnt have it buzzed for some time even then, so now its around 7-8 inches I'd say, nearly shoulder lenght and I'll get it down until it cant grow further. I might have it 5-6 ft long (I'm 5'7") but anyway the longer the better :)

Conversly, why stop growing it at chest length (or less) ?? I guess I just like to be different. My hair's not waist length, yet, but its been a goal for quite awhile. After that - maybe knee length... I just hope the dreaded "terminal length" doesn't kick in before that!

I like really long hair because it feels heavy & thats what I like. If my hair was floor length, it would feel wonderful. So I agree with your reply.

Well i'm barely in the awkward stage at this point but I plan on only growing it mid-back, maybe a bit more, but no way it's going past the waist. I love long hair, but I don't like the way it looks when it gets "too long" (for me that would be past the waist)
