Kurt Cobain

I've been growing my hair for about 6 months now, from a french crop and I look like one of the beatles.
That doesn't really bother me but my aim is to get my hair looking something like Kurt Cobains just before he died.
I've looked at tons of pics of him but I'm not sure how he grew his hair, it looks as though he just left it without maintanance and let it grow.
Basically my question is does anyone know what Kurt did to his hair to get it like it was?
And how can I get mine like that?

I agree, he was one dirty looking dude, man.
I don't know about anyone else here, but personally I do NOT want to look like I bathe once a year and change my clothes only after they've worn out.
He looked awful!

"he didn't shampoo everyday" ... uhmm most longhairs that I know don't shampoo every day either, more like every two weeks and it makes their hair look nicer, not dirty.

Most longhairs DO NOT shampoo ONLY every 2 weeks! I dont know about you but I wash my hair every two days or so. I cant believe anyone would only wash their hair TWICE A MONTH!

I only shampoo my hair twice a week, but what I meant was that Kurt Cobain rarely shampooed his hair. I don't know a time frame but it was definately a lot longer than most normal people

I didn't say most longhairs, I said most of the ones I KNOW. I always shampoo either once a week or once every two weeks. Even doing this, my hair still feels really dry! I couldn't imagine anyone washing their hair every two days or so, but that's just me. So don't get all pissed off, it's all a matter of opinion.

I wasn't pissed off at all. I just was very surpised that anyone would only wash their hair twice a month. Of course, you are free to do that if you want. But I am sure you and your friends are in the minority.

not to be legalistic . . . but, every two weeks is more often than twice a month.

I think shampooing is terrible, always made my hair feel weak and brittle! I've opted for soaking my hair in herbal rinses, a lot cheaper, keeps hair naturally healthy, and it smells great!

I shampoo once, sometimes twice a week. I always condition twice a week, leaving the conditioner on for 30 minutes each time. On the days I don't wash or use conditioner, I don't even get my hair wet. I apply leave in conditioners and moisturizers daily.
BUT....the thing is I look nice. I look clean. And...I shower every day.
Cobain looked like he not only rarely bathed, but like he rarely even bothered to comb his hair. That may have been fine for him, so I don't fault him for it. My motto is have your hair the way YOU want it, not the way others tell you to have it. The thing is that he seemed to take the anti-rock star thing to an extreme, right down to looking like he lived on the streets.
That's not nice hair by any stretch of the imagination. In my opinion, anyway.

Ugh, yeah his hair looked pretty terrible. It was a good length/style, though.

That was what I originally meant I like the style and length and my question was what kinda cut did he have if any?
What Was Cobains Cut?

Does anyone know if he had an undercut or was it just fully grown out?
Thanx in advance

To be totally honest, to me it almost looked as if he either cut his own hair or had his skank Courtney hack on it. It didn't exactly look like a real cut.
