hair above ears

I have always cut the short curly hairs above my ears cuz they stick out from my other hairs. I haven't cut em for over a year, but they're only around 2 inches long. It's noticeable when I tie my hair back but I'm able to get em to stay down with water and elbow grease.
I'm wondering if these hairs are gonna ever get long enough to tie back-anyone know?

Marty, in my case, I never got them much longer than 1", so, at least, in my case, I will probably keep them trimmed short and let the rest be long.

I have the same problem. I plan on getting an undercut in the next few weeks to eliminate that problem.

I've got the same problem you do. Some hairs just naturally have shorter terminal length then others. What I do is to get the little bit of hair right in front and above my ears fashioned into part of my sideburns. The best way I can think of to describe mine is that it follows a natural looking line of about 45 degress from my temples to the top of my ear. That gets rid of most of the unslightly short hairs. The rest blend in. Exactly how much or how little you want to cut short is up to you, but keep in mind that the more extensive it is, the more maintenence it takes and the longer it will take to grow back in if you're not happy with it.

I think these hairs are just growing real slow (1/2 inch every 2 months). My beard hairs grow at this rate and sideburns....so I think the hair above my ears is actually misplaced facial hair that seems to grow half as slow as the other hair on my head. I'm gonna give em 4 months before I cut anything, though. I should know by then if they're terminal.

Yeah, don't do anything rash. I'd been trying to grow that area out for years, but it wasn't getting any longer. In fact, the ends were starting to fray. My beard grows slow as well and only fills in around my mouth and under my chin, not on the side of my cheeks.
