actors growing hair for movies

how do actors cope? growing hair for one movie and then cutting it for the next? also, how do they get manage to get through the awkward stages when looks are so important to actors? they always end up with really nice long hair though!
anyways, have anyone else noticed the slight increase of long hairs in movies? most recently in lord of the rings and the new star wars movies. those who say long hair is for women only can go screw themselves! fine, if they don't wanna look like jedi knights or great medieval warriors, I'd say THEY are the sissies! ;)
all right, now vent your opinions in here!

Not quite that simple. Hair extensions can only go so far, there must be enough underneath to work with to get what they want for the screen. What's called the awkward phase here is avoided by actors by keeping it neatly trimmed Note, however, that if two equal performers are up for a part; one needs extensions and the other doesn't, the one who doesn't will be cast as it the studion saves time and expense (another reason to keep it on the longish side). Also, don't draw any conclusions about how an actor likes to wear his hair based on how he *DOES* wear his hair. His image is often chosen by agent / manager / publicist; he frequently gets little say in the matter. Re: Can You Say Extensions? They are wearing wigs :) Very expensive wigs. I belive they were about $3000 for the wigs.

Note that in movies, they can create any type of haircut and make it look perfectly real. With all the makeup techniques and special effects, they can do anything.
