Hey, thanks...

To the guy who runs this Board, thanks for removing that post with that Lukekeffer guy who was using Bible passages to justify haircuts. We don't really need that here and I think a few of us would have ended up saying things we would seriously regret, or at best, fall into an endless argument. I've seen it happen before on a Rocky Horror Picture Show Board I go to, and it was NOT pretty.
And again, thanks!

Hey, dude, thanks for thanking the editor for removing that non-sense. I was seriously thinking of getting off this board because of it. People slandering God's Word really hurts me deep. Then I saw it was gone and decided otherwise. I was going to thank him myself, but since you have, enough said! Thanks!!!!!

No offense, but just because you didn't agree with him doesn't mean he was slandering God's word.

You bet. We're usually pretty quiet about running this place, but the Lukekeffer incident warrants comment. For those of you who did not see it, the thread was only on the board for a few hours but it got over 20 followup posts during that time. "Lukekeffer" (an alias) had gone beyond sharing his spirituality to trying to impose it on others, not appropriate here, and the reaction was as you'd expect.
What bears comment is the guy was a somewhat-regular who was in the clutches of a strict religious congregation, which for years harassed him about his hair. The posts seemed very out of character for him, but a visit to his web site revealed what probably happened. He cut his hair completely off about a month ago. He apparently succumbed to their pressure and was acting out his building frustration by throwing their dogma at the rest of us. There's surely still a significant streak of longhair in his soul, and this brother is to be pitied.

For the record, I LIKE long hair on men. For the record, I believe each man should make his own decision about it.
For the many on this board who are non-Christian, this is a non-issue. My question was only directed to those who say they are Christian.
Looking back, my approach was far too didactic in nature. For this I apologize.

Thanks for the follow up. Since you had the questions of those holding to a Christian view, perhaps it would have been helpful (and still might be) for you to share with us your own concerns, questions, confusion on the issue. That would be more inviting than posing questions and then arguing with other poeples answers. What is the internal struggle for you as a Christian around longhair? I have found over my life that our questions lead us far more powerfully than any answers someone might give us.

: What was really interesting was that all of this person's arguments were easily demolished by those of us who replied to him.

You're into Rocky? Cool! BTW, anyone on this board who's interested: this Saturday (June 29th) WV is experiencing a revival of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Sorry, for the OT post, but I got excited :)
