Headbanging in the awkward stage

I'm at 8 months right now (from a buzz cut) and have very wavy hair. I love going to concerts or just jamming with friends and I'm always headbanging and just getting into the music but when I do my hair ends up looking like an afro! Is this one of the things that changes as hair gets longer? I notice that some of my friends with straight "awkward stage" hair can jump around like crazy and their hair looks fine but I'm the only one of my friends with wavy hair so I can't compare mine with theirs. Will this always happen? or will it change?

It happens the veryn same to me when I go to concerts or rehearse with friends or just play basketball. I hope it won't be the same in the future but i don't know. Anyway, wheh hair is longer, it will reach for a pony tie so the problem with headbanging is over.

It does change. I'm in the awkward stage too, and my hair is also wavy. Like you, I love getting into music and headbanging and the like; and I also have friends who have perfectly straight hair that allows them to do this with no problem. But I can tell you that it does change. When my hair was down to the tip of my nose it was a lot more manageable than it is now at the top of my nose. I had to cut it for school, and I will forever hate that I had to do that. My hair would be down to my chin by now if it wasn't for school. But yeah man, the longer it gets, the better it will behave. Every little inch makes a lot of difference. Just hang in there.

As your hair grows, the added weight will help a lot. Headbang anyway!! I've seen short haired guys headbanging at concerts. Who cares what anyone else thinks? Rock on!

I guess in some ways it does look like that when im active but mine's a bit longer so it afros out toward the sides more than the top. When I wake up... well thats a different story. The top is completely an afro while the sides are ok. See i have weird hair, the top is very very wavy while the sides are straight.
