Blow drying it straight

It is now June and I've been growing my hair since September, and it has a really weird wave to it. Basically, I hate it. But what really seems to work to straighten it is a blow dryer. I put it on full blast and put it right up to my head and use a brush with bristles all around it. I've been told blow drying it will damage my hair, but this is the only way I can get it straighter, or is it? Is there any other better, easier, and safer way?

I have heard guys around this board talk about Hair Streightning Irons and all have said they work great. I'm not sure Wal-Mart would carry such a thing, but ask around. My hair is wavy itself, but it's not long enough yet to know wether this will be a problem. Honestly, I don't care, as long as it gets LOOOOONG!!!!

As you didn;t say how long your hair is, it's hard to know, but as it gets longer it will almost certainly begin to straighten out a bit under its own weight. I had the sme problem - for 6 months it was everything from wavy to curly! Now it just lays down quietly (most of the time) and causes no problems.
If you want to blow-dry your hair occasionally (especially if you need to look good in a hurry) then that won;t do much harm - use the coolest setting tho.

It's now about as long as my face, so I guess like you said, the longer it gets the straighter. Thanks so much for your help.

try the flat iron...i have used one for almost a year now, and it is the best thing since sliced bread! takes the curl, friz out...just be careful with it...make sure you keep it moving through your hair or you can damage it.
