Waist-Length Growth

This is a question specifically for you fortunate guys who have waist-length or longer hair. Since your hair became waist-length, has it continued to grow at the same rate (approx. 1/2 inch per month) as it did before reaching waist length? If it started to slow down, at what length did that happen? If it stopped growing, at what length did it stop?

Hi, I had hair a little longer than that a few years ago, I'm trying to achieve that again. I didn't noctice any stop in growth or anything unusuall. I think it may have slowed down some, but when it gets that long I had trouble really telling, it is hard to judge. Also I have somewhat curly hair, so that may have had some effect as well. My 2 cents, if your hair is that long now, don't ever cut it, or let someone else pressure you into it.

Mine has not been waist length in several years, mostly because it is so thick and heavy and also having recently moved to florida. I keep it about 20 inches now but am letting it grow out more just because I do like ity longer. I have never experienced it slowing down as it got longer. It seemed to keep the same rate.

i think mine has slowed over the past 6 months... though as time goes on i am noticing more and more that has reached my beltline... a very little bit is a couple inches past... but i suspect i'll never experience sitting on my hair but who's to say.

If any of you out there have waist length hair, please share with us some pics of different views. This would truly be a source of encouragement for us. Thanks.

The belt line on my pants was my terminal length. It seemed to never grow any longer than that. Well, at least not substantial growth. I'd get some ratty looking ends that would grow another inch or so, but no real growth after that.
So for me...no. It stopped dead cold at the waist.

The way my sister, a hairdresser, explains it that each person's hair is programmed to grow for a certain length of time then fall out, and then its replaced by a new hair. Hair never stops growing, its just when it gets to your programmed time limit it falls out so overall it *seems* to stop growing at a certain point. That bummed me out because mine gets just to my waist, never any more. I thought for sure if i was really careful I could grow it to the floor :-) but that's not in my genes apparently.
