Pics of Longhaired Chinese Singers

The four guys grouped together are actually part of a Chinese boy band called F4. The guy on the right is a Chinese rocker named Nicholas Tse. I've seen some Chinese and Taiwanese entertainers lately, and it seems like long hair on men is becoming in-style.
Which hair's your favorite?

Yeh asian men have nice thick straight hair - well the majority do i think. I was watching the world cup when it was on and notice that the asian countries did have a lot more men with long hair then the other countries, also flicking through some magazines quite a lot of models now have long hair, so maybe it is coming back, if it is it'll still probably be a year or more till it catches on in England.

"boy bands are culture? culture is also something sent to a lab for diagnosis... they are more analagous to stool sample."
One of the best lines i've ever heard.

OK. I think you guys are being mean and putting words into my mouth. I didn't say anything about Chinese culture. I was just talking about their hair. Their hair is cool. Four guys singing pop songs doesn't define culture, and I said nothing of culture. We're here to talk about hair.
And besides, if you want to talk about 4 pretty boys singing love songs to pick up a bunch of chicks, then we can talk about hair bands.
Nevertheless, don't try to be jerks by pretending I said something I didn't and making fun of "my words" which I did not say.
However, long hair may be considered part of Chinese culture since throughout the dynasties, men have had long hair. But if you don't want to talk about hair and just make fun of boy bands, then get outta the hair hyperboard!
And if I have somehow misunderstood you guys, then my apologies in advance.

chill man, there was no ridicule directed at you or your post- which was quite germain to the topic... music is cultural. your original reference to this group as a boy band evoked a sense of irony- of all things western to show up in as culturally rich a place as china... a clone of backstreet boys or n'sync?
popular bands do tend to dictate fashion trends- including hairstyle so your original point- that long hair for men is (or might be) coming in style- is well taken...

Sorry about that. I just didn't know that people hadn't thought that there would be boy bands in China. I kind of expected people to know that there is pop music and boy bands in tons of countries. After all, what's Chinese music supposed to be? Some guy wearing a triangular farm hat and a long-sleeved robe singing about kung fu fighting?
Again, sorry about that. I have actually listened to the band and other Chinese artists. There are no boy bands, girl bands, girl pop singers, or boy pop singers who sound like 'NSync, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears, or whomever. And they pretty much all write their own songs too. (And if you didn't know, one of the guys in my photo - Nicholas Tse - is a rocker of some sort.)
But I really don't see the problem with boy bands. Yeah, they are marketed to get girls, but tons of musicians are marketed to attract the opposite sex. I mean, there are some rap songs that brag about how they've slept with women and dumped them the day after as a means of social status.
I sure wish that having long hair in America didn't mean you were a drugatic, goth, metalhead, a lazy bum (that's REALLY absurd, especially talking about all the stuff you must do having long hair), or a homosexual (which I was called as a former longhair and probably will get after a couple more months).
I'm not saying, "Hey, China's cooler than the USA 'cause their dudes have long hair". I just wanted to point out some hair that I thought was cool.

Speaking of interesting cultural differences....
In many native american tribes, it was a huge compliment to be called a homosexual (they, of course had a different term for it) because it meant that you were wise, spiritual, and had medicine man qualities. It also meant that you were the one that blessed the children when they were born, planted many of the seeds for the crops and in general were treated with respect.
Interesting that the anglo-saxon/white guys use this as a put down...but then, it just shows what an ignorant race of cretins we are...

no apology needed.
i'm aware that there are pop bands elsewhere in the world & can appreciate those contemporary musician write and perform their own material. your original use of the term 'boy band' evoked an image in my mind- it was that misunderstanding that inspired my comments.
anyone willing to slander you- whether calling you a loser, druggie, bum, etc., is saying more about himself than he is about you. such slurs almost always come from someone so low in self-esteem that he needs to tear someone down to make him feel better. quite pitiful really.
yes it is cool seeing some hair length finding its way back into pop culture
