Hi treyn - just saw your most recent pic. Very impressive. i am very jealous. I think I’m at that stage when your hair-growing project starts to become a compulsion. My obsession worries me sometimes. Always looking in the mirror and checking for any further noticeable growth. I don’t think I’m all that vain (well no more than the next guy) - I would say I’m just very very excited about having long hair. I guess you could compare it to being a kid and waiting for Christmas!!
Anyway, I was wondering if you could post your hair growth time line. That being the length (top, back, sides) it was when you began growing right up to the point where you are now at say 1 or 2mth intervals. It would be really encouraging for me as I think, well I can only guess that we have similar type of hair (thick and mostly straight. )
Thanks man and KEEP GROWING!!

I can definetly relate to the obsession thing. I am still that way myself with checking for any noticable growth almost on a daily basis. I wish I could get my mind off my hair for a month at a time.
About the timeline thing. I don't really have a record of length from when I conciously started growing my hair long. Lets see if I can get this right: You see, I have tried many times in the past years to grow my hair long only to fail because my hair is so thick and bushy and I couldn't tolerate it. So, I would get a buzz cut or a flat-top which I hate. Well, I think the middle of last year, I had a buzz cut. From there I just kinda left my hair alone for no particular reason. You know, not conciously trying to grow it long, but grow it out. Then March of this year, when it was starting to come out of the hedge/spike look and get some lay down length to it, I went to my hairstylist and had it streightned out into a decent haircut and told her I was going to try once again to GROW IT LONG, the start of my current journey. That was probably around March the 1st to the 5th. She told me to come back in 6 weeks for a dead ends trim and I did, which I gotta say I regretted, cause although she told me she was only taking off a pinch, I could still see the length loss. I have not had a trim since and don't plan on another one.
Below I have added with this post a pictoral timeline to give you an idea of my progress since March. First is a list of the dates for each picture in order of pic:
(1st) Taken March 6, 2002
(2nd) Taken April 10, 2002
(I don't have a pic for May)
(3rd) Taken June 15, 2002
(4th) Taken July 7, 2002

Thanks treyn! - It was very good of you to include the photos. There are really encouraging.
I hope you don’t mind me asking - do you even off your bangs with small trims? - They seem really level at the ends (looks good!).
I can see you are many inches ahead of me. I hope I can last as long as where you are now. If I were there I’d be really pleased. What’s your personal goal by the way? Mine is shoulder length - id be content with that.
Okay - well thanks again. Keep posting but most importantly KEEP GROWING MAN!

I haven't had scissors touch my hair since April 18th, so I guess my former hairstylist must have gotten my bangs straight then. Although, when I look close, the hair over my ears on the left side is slightly longer than the right, but not much. As long as I can get away with no trims and keep my hair ends healthy, I'll be happy. I can't stand loosing any length progress. As for my personal goal, you ask?... As long as it will grow to terminal length, whatever that may be. ALL THE WAY, BABY!!!! WHOOOO!!!!!
Get some pictures up, dude! I want to compare. I hear you got a web-cam. There is an upload picture section on this site. Upload there and show them on a post.---------KEEP GROWIN'!!!!!

Me too I am constantly watching my hair in the mirror lol. One month ago, it was even worse. I was not satisfied at all by my short hair. But as I became a three-monther, my hair is a bit longer and it looks a lot better! Now when I watch my hair in the mirror, I am a bit happier because at least I start to have long hair. So for now, I think less about my future with long hair, I think more about the present.

I'm with everyone else. I'm not as bad as I was about a month ago, but I still check for growth every few days. It's finally reached the top of my top lip now, so I'm starting to chill out. lol
Keep growing!
