Kinda goofy question but i have the same length as Jim had when he was with the doors. The pre beard days. Anywho anyone know how he got his hair like that, its so full and wavy. I have naturally wavy hair but just can't seem to get it. Oh well thanks.

If I am not mistaken...Jim M. had VERY wavy/curly hair...
...either that OR they waved it for him?!
GROW IT...SHOW IT!

Probably naturally like that? Well i don't know but I've been told my hair looks alot like Jim Morrison's on more than one occasion which is ok I guess but I wish it were a bit straighter. Ahh you always want what you dont have.

Hi, Ryan. I'm not a stylist, but it intrigues me that you like Jim Morrison's hair. I happen to think it is a very great hairstyle, and one of the most flattering long styles on a guy that I've ever seen. I don't know if you are referring to a particular picture of Morrison's, but I do want to point you to a series of photos he had taken for what has now been famously regarded as his Seventeen Magazine layout, taken around 1966 or 1967 (Try going to some Jim Morrison websites and look for the photos of him shirtless with love beads close to his neck). I read where he went to the late, then famous hairstylist Jay Sebring who asked him what he wanted his hair to look like. Morrison pulled out a picture of a statue of Alexander the Great (who had a superb ancient-age hair). That look was created by Sebring. It looks to me to be cut in long layers, not all in one length, a precurser of the 1970's cuts for men, which were some of the most attractive of all time (look at Warren Beatty during the early 1970's, especially from the films THE PARALLAX VIEW and SHAMPOO). I would scout out some salons that have very creative stylists and ask if you could come in for advice, and bring some pics of Morrison and say "could you do this for me?", and then go home and think about it before any styling is done. A really creative stylist might feel up to the challange to creating a similar look for you and give you tips on how to maintain it. But the thing to remember is (in my non-professional opinion) is that Morrison's look was not done in the same way that is currently popular among longhairs -- which is all in one length. It had fullness and waved beautifully, and was tousled, and wasn't close to the head. It is a fantastic long hairstyle, but one I believe requires some different thinking when it comes to styling.
Good luck! If you decide to go for it, let us know how it turns out -- and post a pic! I'd love for that look to come back in fashion again.

: Kinda goofy?
No, not goofy at all.
Remember that most public figures do not step out of the shower an into the front of the camera as they would like to suggest, or as their agents insist. Rather they are tied down in stylist chairs and forced to submit to the discipline of proper hair styling. They will get perms, sets, tints, and also sorts of improvements, but this will be under control of the makeup director. This does not mean that the star does not enjoy the experience, but take advantage of your opportunity.
