Wait it out. Trust me, it DOES lay down after a little while. It doesn't even take that long, either. My best friend had to cut his hair a while back, and it was like yours is now. Now, only about a month later, it's laying down just fine. Just stick it out. Good luck!

we've all gone thru that stage. can be maddening. just keep that ball cap in use and if you have to do something where the cap isnt allowed, gel it man. worst case scenario? spray it.
my hair was light and fly away too at that stage and it took about 4 more months... don't sweat it and try not to think about it so much.

Long hair is something you have to be patient with to achieve. Believe me, I have cut my hair many times in the past twelve years because I couldn't put up with it. Deeply regretted it everytime. But this time I just decided I was GOING to accomplish what I have set out to do no matter what I or anyone else thinks about it. I keep it under a cap at work and let it go free at home and just make it point to try and not think to muck about it. Your hair looks like it will be awesome when it gets long. Endurance and Perseverance is the key here. Put up with it. Some lyrics to the Steve Miller Band song Big Ole' Jet Airliner said, "You've got to go through hell before you get to Heaven" and the same applies when undertaking a Longhair Venture. Consider it a quest with a goal to reach. Challenge yourself and remain determined. In a year or so you will look back and think... "Man, that wasn't so bad!" I have thought that myself a few times since beginning even though my hair isn't close to where I want it yet, but it has come a long way in the past year. Good Luck and whatever you do... Keep It Long, Right Or Wrong!!!!!

David,
What everyBuddy here said is true...
...I found L'Oreal Melting Gel and Liquid (spray-on) gel
to be of GREAT HELP in controlling awkward hair until
it lays flat.
Good Luck

Man, I wish my hair looked that GOOD during the awkward stage! Gel is what got me through. Work some in when your hair is wet. Then style as desired. If you don't want the "wet look" then you can brush it out after it is dry. It won't look "gelled" but will still stay under control. Just make sure that you use a gel that doesn't contain any alchol, as that will dry out and damage your hair. I use Dep level 8 with good results.
Hope this helps.
