another question about braids

I've been getting braids for w while(thanks to afriend) and I was wondering if I should wash them or try to keep them from getting wet, or what?

If you plan to keep them and not take them out, you can dilute some shampoo in a spray bottle. Spray the diluted formula on while in the shower and rinse under gentle running water. Same for conditioner. Pat dry with a towel.

Whatever you do...MAKE SURE the braids get UNdone and cleaned.
Not sure how often, but if you leave hair in braids
for too long they will rot the hair a bit.
Maybe somebody here knows how often to undo and clean the hair.

NOT TRUE! This is an old wives tale that really is getting old. You won't get mold, rot, rust, or have fish calling your hair home just because you don't undo it and dry it.
People can have braids or dreads for YEARS without any worry.
Please, let's stop the old fairy tales!

Did anyone else see that program on the discovery channel on those mummies they found in China? One of them, I think they called her Wupu Woman, was about 4,000 years old and her braids were still in perfect condition.
